I am not sure what really happened when I became a father for the second time but something awoke within me. I have always painted but very randomly and never had a "voice" till little Seb came along. I had a sudden feeling of confidence and upwelling of creativity. Surrounded by the support of my loving wife and 2 little dudes here I am: 

 

Originally from Minnesota, Tim Wanner is based in Boulder, Colorado. He is primarily a self taught artist whose work is influenced by the gestural abstractionist painters of the 1940’s and 1950’s. Tim begins a painting with a vague sense of color palate and no preconceived ideas. He paints in the moment. He uses unconventional items such as sponges, wooden spatulas and squeegees.  Look closely and you will identify different forms of media. His work is spontaneous, unpredictable and full of life. Tim is constantly pushing his creative limit by experimenting and redefining himself as an artist.  When not painting you can find Tim working as a Sommelier and winemaker, spending time cycling, surfing and chasing around his wife and two young boys.
